Social Services

Caring for the Body and Mind

Bellevue Health & Rehabilitation provides medically-related social services to ensure the highest level of physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing for all of our residents. Our on-site, full-time social worker identifies, tracks and addresses a number of psychosocial health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and delirium, as well as a range of issues with more obvious social dimensions, including loss of relationships, loss of personal control and identity, and overall adjustment to the facility.

Psychological problems stemming from medical conditions, loss, and other age-related issues, can often be reduced or even eliminated through a combination of interpersonal psychotherapy, problem-solving and cognitive-behavioral therapies.

We believe social workers are key in improving the quality of life of our residents by offering unique perspectives, implementing environmental and individual interventions when necessary, and encouraging resident, staff, and family involvement. It is our mission to not only treat our patient’s physicals needs, but also their emotional and psychological needs.

As part of our social services program, we create a robust schedule of activities specifically designed to encourage socialization and engagement to further enhance the quality of life for our residents.

“I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for your help with my Mom. She has grown so very close to a couple of your caregivers. Everyone is so prompt and considerate of her needs. It’s comforting to know I have people who I can count on.”

“Bellevue was a great experience for my dad. We were in the skilled nursing/rehab center. He enjoyed the staff. The food was good. They made every effort to make him comfortable. After we left, the staff continued to help with the transitions we needed help with at home. I would recommend this facility to anyone.”
